The two-minute mug of homemade hot chocolate

Forget about Swiss Miss! With these four ingredients, you can have a mug of homemade hot chocolate in two minutes:

Mug of hot chocolate and Produkt milk frother

Homemade hot chocolate and the IKEA Produkt milk frother

  • 8 ounces of milk
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • Splash of vanilla extract
  1. Pour the milk in a microwave-safe mug.
  2. Add the cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract, and blend well. I use an IKEA Produkt milk frother.
  3. Heat in the microwave. (My microwave is 1100 watts; I heated my mug for 30 seconds, stirred the hot chocolate, and then heated again for another 45 seconds.)

Doughnut-shaped pancakes.

That’s what I got when I followed the recipes that came with the Bella Donut Maker I bought last Black Friday. I did a little research to find a chocolate doughnut recipe, and I found a good recipe. That recipe made more doughnuts than I wanted in one batch, though, and they just weren’t chocolatey enough for me. That’s when I decided to tinker with that recipe to come up with my own version.

After quite a bit of experimentation, I’m happy with the results.
